I qualified in Psychology in 1979 at University College London, and followed this with a PhD at the Institute of Psychiatry in drug abuse, which was awarded in 1983.
I qualified in medicine from Cambridge (Downing College and New Addenbrooke's Hospital) in 1986 and received my neurosurgical training in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh. I was added to the principle list as a Consultant Neurosurgeon in 2002.
I worked as a consultant at Kings College Hospital until 2009 when I became fully independent and still continue with a large NHS practice based in Surrey.
My neurosurgical interest is in spine, including new and minimally invasive techniques with and without instrumentation.
My private practices are based in London and Surrey.
London – As part of The London Spine Clinic, Harley Street, treating patients at The London Clinic (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Surrey – Ashtead Hospital (Wednesdays and Fridays)
Whole of spine, tumours, trauma and degenerate spine, including back and neck pain.
Referred arm and neck pain.
Peripheral nerve entrapment e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve entrapment.
