Mr Willis-Owen is a sports surgeon who has raced marathon at international elite level, rowed at Oxford University and continues to race bikes and compete in triathlon. He understands his patient's desire to continue with their chosen sports and reach their full potential. He knows surgery should be last resort, but when it is needed it should be fast, accurate and perfectly performed.
As well as all forms of arthroscopic / keyhole, knee, and lower limb surgery Mr Willis-Owen is able to offer shockwave and injection therapy and has a network of excellent physiotherapists and top orthotists in London and Kent. Differing from many other sports orthopaedic surgeons Charles regards surgery as a last resort and uses a variety of up to the minute alternative techniques where appropriate to get you back to your best fitness. When surgery really is required it is usually done via keyhole arthroscopy as a daycase procedure to minimise disruption to the patient and get them recovered as soon as possible.
Charles specialises in knee injury and is trained in orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine and sports psychology and is well equipped to give his patients the best advice to get them back to the top of their game.
